Online Safety Training
The Ohio BWC requires 2011 group rated private employers which have experienced at least one allowed claim in the 2009 or 2010 premium year to attend a minimum two hours of mandatory safety training by June 30, 2012.
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation offers online safety training that will meet your requirement. Once you have completed the training be sure to return your certificate of completion to the CSI Compliance Department.
Below are instructions to assist in your completion of the online safety training:
The BWC has online courses offered and are listed below:
· Accident Analysis Online (Required for DFSP (45 minutes)
· Avoiding Back Trauma (2 hours)
· Getting Started with Safety (4 hours)
· Health Hazards in Construction (1 hour)
· Industrial Hygiene Overview (1 hour)
· Ladder/Stairway Safety (45 minutes)
· Preventing Cuts and Lacerations (1 hour)
· Preventing Slips/Trips/Falls (1 hour)
Log on to www.ohiobwc.com where you start first by registering for courses. Note: Be sure to have your policy number.
After you login to the training center you can view the online campus and complete the following steps:
- Click on the “Learning Center”
- Click on” Course Information and Enrollment”
- Topic = “All”
- Department = “All”
- Keyword = “Online”
- Click “Search” button
- Choose one of the online courses listed above and click on the course you wish to take. Must take at least 2 hours of education and print out separate certificates at the end of each course.
- Click on “Take Course”
- Click on underlined title of course
- Click on “Yes” if it asks you do you want to display the non secure items
- The course will begin and at the end you will have to pass the comprehension exam to get credit for the class.
- After you pass the course, exit – there should be a blue menu on the left side of the screen
- Enter the “User Information Center”
- If you can’t find it, log out and log back in and then go to “User Information Center”
- Click on “Student Records”
- Click on “Student Transcript”
- Find the course you passed and click on “Certificate”
- Print the certificate and email to tcanovi@compensation-solutions.com or fax to at 888-776-7741.
